Everything must evolve. I read this for the first time long back in a hindi language book and it has came back to me now, maybe 15 years after I read it for the first time. Source of inspiration was a split second thought about how music has evolved over the years while listening to a progressive metal song. The evolution I am talking about is evident from a pure blues song by Muddy Waters, an Iron Maiden song, a Metallica song, and an Opeth song all of which are representative of a form of popular music in different times. I am lead to wonder at times where the future lies. Lots of different kinds of musical experiments are being performed by great musicians.

I remember a time when I did not like to listen to growling vocals at all. It was for the first time after listening to opeth that realization dawned upon me, of a hidden mystical flavor in a more aggressive form of expression. Although I play guitar, I do not consider myself a musician. The point I am trying to convey is about the creativity of a lot of such musicians that opens windows of musical discovery in a lot of other people. Maybe, someone else who is more musically proficient than I will stumble upon a different genre and invent a newer form and music will evolve once again. Music is a species, that evolves, affects, inspires, grows and dies.

Lots of people have said that I have a good ear for music. I see however that music is inspiring me at this time to write more than sing or play. It inspired me enough to write for the first time.
